Your First Visit &
Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to Nova Naturopathic Integrative Clinic! We're excited to be part of your health journey. Below you'll find everything you need to know before your first appointment, including how to prepare, what to expect, and important clinic policies.
-
Once your appointment is booked, you'll receive a confirmation email from Jane, our secure online patient portal. Through Jane, you can:
Complete your intake and consent forms
Receive appointment reminders
Access invoices and receipts
Communicate securely with your practitioner (when applicable)
Important: All required forms must be completed at least 48 hours before your appointment. This allows your practitioner time to review your health history before your visit. If your forms are not completed within this timeframe, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
-
Before your visit, please:
Complete all intake and consent forms through Jane.
Email any recent blood work, imaging, specialist reports, or other relevant medical records to admin@novaclinic.ca at least 48 hours before your appointment.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements (or bring the bottles with you).
Write down any symptoms, concerns, or questions you'd like to discuss.
If you're unsure whether a document is relevant, feel free to send it to admin@novaclinic.ca, and our administrative team will ensure it is securely added to your patient file.
-
Your initial appointment is a comprehensive assessment focused on understanding your health as a whole. Your naturopathic doctor will review your:
Health history
Current concerns and symptoms
Lifestyle and nutrition
Previous testing and medical history
Current medications and supplements
Together, you'll discuss your health goals and receive personalized recommendations and a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.
-
Follow-up appointments allow your practitioner to monitor your progress, review any test results, answer questions, and adjust your treatment plan as needed. The frequency of follow-up visits will depend on your individual health concerns, treatment plan, and goals.
-
If it has been more than 12 months since your last appointment, we recommend booking a 60-minute follow-up appointment. This gives your practitioner enough time to reassess your health and update your treatment plan.
-
We kindly ask for 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. This policy allows us to respect our practitioners' time while offering appointment availability to other patients.
-
Appointments can be booked:
Online through Jane
By calling our clinic
By emailing admin@novaclinic.ca
If you're unsure which appointment is right for you, our administrative team is happy to help.
